GAMES AND SPORTS

St. Paul’s High Senior (SPACO) has contributed a lot as far as Sports development in the Volta Region is concerned. In the early 1990s, ‘Border University’, as the school is popularly known, very often had a large representation in the regional sporting teams that competed at the national level.

In 1990, 1991 and 1992 St. Paul’s Senior High School represented the region in the Milo Games which was then staged on Zonal basis. (Greater Accra, Eastern and Volta Regions). Students from SPACO formed almost half of the volleyball and the basketball teams that played in the 1995 edition of the inter-regional competition in Wa were mostly from SPACO. The school provided about six (6) sports boys to the regional team that year.

In athletics, SPACO can boast of a lot of records that stand in the name of students of the school. It was in 2006 when some of these old were updated. Atiga David set a record in 800 metres and 1500 metres in 1992, which records remain unbroken. Sowubo Kwaku’s 200m and long jump records have not also been broken.

It is also on record that the immense contributions of St. Paul’s Senior High School’s led to the mid-south Zone winning the soccer trophy in 2005, 2006 and 2007 during the Inter-Zonal competition. The school is proud of a number of wins in Soccer, Volleyball, Basketball, Table Tennis, and Handball during the local inter-soccer competition. Notwithstanding all these successes, there are a lot of challenges. These are lack of materials and equipments.

RECREATIONAL GROUNDS

The school has two standard playing fields which are used for all the games, athletics and field events.
