As part of their 5th Annivesary celebration, the Ghana Incentive-Base Risk System for Agricultural Lending (GIRSAL) supports Ohawu Agricultural college by donating 100 mono desks to the school to enhance teaching and learning.
In his welcome address, the Dean of student, Mr. Mawuli Sevor entreat students of the college to take their lessons seriously because GIRSAL is not only here to support them with the donation but also help them to become expects in Agribusiness, a modern way of dealing with Agriculture.
Presenting the desks to the school, the Cheif Operating Officer of GIRSAL, Mr. Samuel Yeboah praise the college for training Mid-level professionals who contributed to Agricultural sector since its existance in 1964.
He also believe the desks will provide a comfortable learning environment for teaching and learning by reducing some of the challenges they encounter in the lecture halls.
“Gone were the days when Agriculture is about Hoe and Cutlass, but now it has been modernized and people with the technical expectize can help brigde the gap”
were the words of advise he gave the students of the college.
He also use the opportunity to call on other co-operate institutions to turn their attention to helping the college in its quest of producing high class Professionals in Agriculture.
“I invite other co-operate bodies to join us help OHASEC to realise its vision of becoming a college noted for producing professionals in Agribusiness for a sustainable Agricultural system”
Recieving the Desk on behalf of the college, the Principal, Mr. Ernest Mawufemor kwesi Abiew, express joy in the generous donation by GIRSAL to rhe school.
“It looks like am dreaming and I liken this day to the story of Joseph in the Bible, who didn”t expect his elevation” were some of the joyous statements of the head of the college.
The principal again highlithed the need for the Desk which will empower the students to focus on their studies.
“Today is a significant day for our college, and we are deeply grateful for this support. Education is the foundation of progress, and a conducive learning environment is essential to nurture the bright minds that will lead our agricutural sector. These desk will directly contribute to the comfort and productivity of our students, empowering them to focus more on their studies and, ultimately, on improving agricuture in Ghana”.
He also seize the moment and caution the student against manhandling of the Desk which will only reduce their life span.
“I entreat all and sundry to take good care of these Desk, by properly maintaining them to look new all the time”
In honour of the donation, the college presented a plaque to the Ghana Incentive-Base Risk System for Agricultural Lending (GIRSAL).
