The housemaster of Quaque House at Adisadel College, Ekow Holman, has been interdicted pending investigations into an assault on a student by a senior colleague in a viral video.
The victim’s head was hit against the metallic bed frame in the dormitory, leaving him with a swollen face. The culprit, according to a statement issued by the Ghana Education Service (GES), has also been suspended pending investigations.
The GES has directed its regional director of education to liaise with Adisadel College to investigate the case.
“The attention of management of Ghana Education Service has been drawn to a disturbing video of assault involving two students of Adisadel College being circulated on social media.
“Management is deeply concerned and condemns this barbaric act of violence in our schools. We applaud the authorities for taking swift action to suspend the culprit pending further investigation,” the GES statement added.
“Ghana Education Service assures the general public that we are taking this matter very seriously and are committed to ensuring a safe and secure learning environment for all students across the country,” the GES said.
