One of the ingenious academician who is training very fine agronomist in this country is our very own Dr. Joseph Xorse Kugbe.
He is a Lecturer/Researcher at Faculty of Agriculture, University for Development Studies, Tamale. Dr. Kugbe is skilled in Natural Resource Management, Science, Remote Sensing Applications, Capacity Building, and Sustainable Development. He is a strong research professional with a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) focused in Soil Science and Environmental Chemistry, Remote Sensing from The University of Bonn.
Joseph, read general science in Spaco and completed in 1998. He proceeded to the University of Cape Coast for his Bachelor degree. An offer from one of the largest University in Japan; Ehime University knocked at his door and he took the opportunity and graduated with a Master of Science degree in Soil Science in 2008. He furthered at the University of Bonn for his Doctor of Philosophy (Phd) in Soil Science and Environmental Chemistry in 2012.
Dr Kugbe joined the Faculty of Agriculture, University for Development Studies, Tamale in 2013 and has since been instrumental in the Faculty. He has been tremendous considering the way he has trained and shaped skills of very great students who are making waives in the sustainable agriculture policy adopted by the current government as well as the Savannah accelerated development projects. One of his students, Eleazar Krofa (Chief Technical officer at CSIR-SARI) wrote this about him: “Joseph is my Soil Science lecturer at the University for Development Studies Tamale, Ghana. He is resourceful and a genius. He imparted me with skill to publish scientific papers. Thank you sir” Joseph also has several publications in soil, crop, modern agriculture and sustainability to his name.
